Newsflash, Facebook asked to Remove “Scrabulous”
Apparently, the intellectual property police are finally making the rounds to the Facebook Neighborhood. Mattel, the owner of Scrabble, has send a letter to Facebook asking them to remove the Facebook App Scrabulous which is currently getting about 600,000 daily users and has about 2.4 million installs. Read the story here
The app was created by 2 guys from India and I am sure they are making a nice penny on this app, but it may not last long. There have been many discussions in the forums about how facebook apps are the wild west right now with no rules or penalties. This should soon change as eventually the lawyers will get involved. Be careful you don’t build a model around someone else’s legal property.
